Two People, One Podcast: The Men Behind the Mic
Kyle Caron graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management with an Economics minor. He attended Bristol Eastern (CT) prior for high school.
Caron began working on in the sports field his junior year when he interned at his home town of Bristol’s American Legion team assisting the general manager. Senior year, he became a referee for UConn’s intramural league and worked in facility operations at the UConn Recreation facility. As summer approached he also split time interning at The First Tee of Connecticut, helping to run summer golf camps and host tournaments for young athletes around the state.
He came to UConn because of his love for the basketball program and continues to cheer them on. His hometown loyalty takes a back seat when it comes to reporting, however, and he takes great pride in remaining unbiased and up to date no matter which team, player or story he is covering.
Aside from college basketball, Kyle also writes about news and controversies concerning the NCAA as well as the English Premier League.
Jefferson Akers graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Care Management and Insurance Studies. He attended St. John’s Prep in Danvers, Massachusetts prior for high school.
Although Akers’ collegiate resume focused more on finance than sports, it never stopped him from loving the sport he grew up playing: basketball. A regular at the UConn Recreation basketball courts, Jefferson’s controversial opinions and admiration for Kobe Bryant quickly found their way to anyone who played against him.
Never wasting a minute, he was involved in the Muay Thai Kickboxing Club, Healthcare Management Society, National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and intramural basketball teams during his time at the university. He interned as a Strategic Claims Management Intern in the spring of his senior year and began work as a Client Services Analyst after graduation.
In addition to his work on the podcast, Jefferson also covers the NBA, professional boxing, and any drama related to his favorite celebrity family, the Balls (especially Lavar).
